Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What makes Kizingo Spoons so special?
A: Our spoons make self-feeding successful.
Learning to feed yourself is difficult, but it's so important and at Kizingo we believe that kids should have the tools they need to do this, successfully, for themselves. Our utensils are special because they:
- Encourage independence
- Are curved to work with the way children want use them
- Have short, wide handles that are easy to hold
- Are Dishwasher safe
- Don’t contain BPA/BPS/PVC/Lead or Phthalates
- Are 100% designed in the US
Q: Where are Kizingo products made?
A: In the land of responsibility.
No, seriously. Our products are 100% designed in the US and responsibly made by our partners in China and Thailand.
Q: What are Kizingo products made of?
A: The highest-quality, FDA-approved, dishwasher-safe plastic they can be.
All of our products are made from FDA-approved BPA/PVC/Lead/Phthalate-free Profax 511 (aka: polypropylene, aka: plastic).
During the design and manufacturing processes, we tested a number of different materials - all plastic co-polymers - and selected the best one we could to balance safety, feel, and manufacturability. One day we may explore other materials (we love the idea of introducing a wooden version and have been exploring some bamboo composite materials too!), so keep coming back to see what new products - and materials - we're offering!
Q: Can I put your products in the dishwasher?
A: Heck yeah!
Can you imagine a toddler spoon or plate that you had to hand wash? Our products are designed for parents, by parents, so yes ... they are dishwasher safe. We wouldn't recommend putting them in the microwave, though, although it won't ruin the utensils or tableware if you do.
Q: What if I get the wrong item?
A: Let us know, we'll make it right.
Hit send too soon? Miskey your address? Don't sweat it. Email us at email@example.com and we'll help.
Q: How do I know if my child is left or right-handed?
A: You might not know ... yet.
Kids develop hand preference around their 3rd birthday, if they haven't shown preference already. One of co-founder's kids were all hand dominant before 3 years, and there other is left-handed! If you're not sure, we recommend either buying one of each, or a spoon for the hand that you see them using most often for eating.
Q: What is your return policy?
A: Our customers are our greatest ambassadors.
If you need to return your product, visit Returns where you will find instructions on what to do.
