My kids (who am I kidding ... my whole family, me included) all have a sweet tooth. Which I don't mind indulging in moderation and when the sweet treats are things we've made at home. 

So when I found Hummingbird High's Weeknight Baking cookbook it helped us fit enjoying homemade desserts into our post-dinner routine a little easier. We've made many incredible recipes from this book, but these boxed-mix brownies, from scratch have become our absolute favorite. They are just the right amount of chocolate. Just the right amount of gooey. Just the right amount of crisp edge and soft center. Just the right amount of yessssss!   

The worst part of this recipe is not the prep time - which is just 10 minutes - or the bake time - at just over a half an hour - is the fact that you have to let them cool entirely before you can eat them. {Good luck with that.}
